FAQ
Great question! To have the best experience possible:
• Eat a solid meal within 2 hours of coming in. This keeps your blood sugar up and prevents lightheadedness.
• Stay hydrated and get a good night's sleep beforehand.
• Dress comfortably in clothes that allow easy access to the area we are tattooing (and that you don't mind potentially getting a little ink on).
• Avoid alcohol for at least 24 hours prior, as it thins your blood.
• Feel free to bring a water bottle and sugary snacks/candy to keep your energy up!
We are available for walk-ins on most days between 11:00 AM and 3:00 PM! However, availability can change quickly depending on how busy our artists are. We highly recommend giving the shop a quick call before you head over just to confirm we have an open chair for you
You must be 18 years or older with a valid government-issued photo ID (Driver’s License, Passport, or Ontario Photo Card) to get tattooed. We do accept clients aged 16+ with parental/legal guardian consent and present with ID.
Yes, our artists do require a deposit to secure your appointment slot. This deposit is deducted from the final cost of your tattoo upon completion. It ensures that the time is reserved exclusively for you and covers the artist's preparation time.
That’s a bit like asking, "How much is a bag of groceries?"—it really depends on whether you're buying ramen noodles or steak!
In all seriousness, a full sleeve (or any other large tattoo piece) is a major project. Since every body size and design complexity is different, we typically charge by the hour (approximately $200/hour on average depending on artist- standard rate, not including any discounts).
A full sleeve can take anywhere from 10 to 40+ hours depending on detail, meaning it’s an investment of thousands, not hundreds. To get a better idea on pricing, come in for a consultation so we can take proper measurements and give you a proper quote!
We accept primarily Cash and E-Transfer. There are major banks and ATMs located nearby for your convenience if you need to withdraw cash.
Absolutely. We are fully inspected by Toronto Public Health and adhere strictly to the BodySafe program guidelines. We use single-use, sterile setups for every single client (everything that touches your skin is new and disposable). You are welcome to watch your artist set up and open the sterile packages right before your tattoo begins.
Yes! The vast majority of the high-quality inks we use are vegan-friendly and non-toxic. If you have specific allergies or concerns about ingredients, please let your artist know during your consultation.
Yes! We want you to be 100% confident in your choice. You can definitely see your design before your appointment date. We believe in collaboration, so you will work directly with your artist to review the artwork and make adjustments to ensure the design is exactly what you want before we start tattooing.
For sure! You are welcome to bring a guest with you for moral support! However, our shop space is limited so if you plan to bring your entire family/motorcycle club/baseball team, we suggest they tour our lovely neighbourhood while you're getting tattooed.
Yes, we do! Cover-ups require a bit more planning than a fresh tattoo. We recommend booking a consultation (in-person or via email) so an artist can look at your existing tattoo and discuss what designs will work best to cover it effectively.
Yes, our shop is located on the ground floor and our private studios are fully wheelchair accessible. However, as our bathroom is located in the basement of our 100 year old building, it is unfortunately not wheelchair accessible.
Please consult with us before applying any numbing cream. Some brands can change the texture of the skin or affect how the ink settles, making it harder to get a good result. We can recommend specific brands or advise if it’s suitable for the placement you want.
For your safety and the safety of your baby, we do not tattoo clients who are pregnant or breastfeeding. Getting a tattoo places stress on your immune system and carries a small risk of infection, which can be complicated during pregnancy or while nursing. We would love to work with you once you have finished breastfeeding!
The most important thing to remember is that each artist has their own specific aftercare instructions they like to follow, so always prioritize the direct advice they give you. However, there are several universal rules to ensure your ink heals vibrantly:
• Keep it Clean: Gently wash the tattoo with lukewarm water and a fragrance-free, antibacterial soap. Pat it dry with a clean paper towel—do not rub it.
• Avoid Submerging: You should avoid swimming (pools, lakes, or tubs) for at least a week, or until the tattoo is fully peeled, to prevent infection and fading.
• Sun Protection: Avoid direct sunlight on the area for the first week or two. UV rays are the enemy of healing skin and can cause significant fading before the ink has even settled.
• Manage Moisture and Sweat: It is crucial to avoid excess sweating (such as intense exercise) unless you can ensure you can keep the area as dry as possible. Sweat can trap bacteria against the healing skin and lead to irritation.
• Hands Off: Never pick or scratch at any scabs or peeling skin. Let them fall off naturally to avoid pulling out the pigment.
Pro Tip: If your artist applied a medical-grade adhesive bandage (like Saniderm), don't be alarmed if it fills with a "fluid sac" of ink and plasma—this is a normal part of the healing process!
